LCD transparent screen and OLED transparent screen are both intended for display purposes. LCD transparent screen is used to display information on a clear background making everything behind the screen visible. LCD transparent screen come in varying sizes from less than 20 inches to more than 100 inches while the OLED transparent screen only comes in three sizes that are 55 inches, 65 inches, and 75 inches. The OLED transparent screen has a thin screen frame, which makes it easy to carry around while LCD transparent screen has a thicker screen frame.

LCD transparent screen tend to consume more power since their energy consumption depends on the backlighting. However, the power consumed by this screen can be regulated by backlighting settings; that is, low backlight results in low energy consumption. On the other hand, OLED transparent screen requires no backlighting and thus tend to consume less power. The screens are also extremely thin, making them consume less power. However, power consumption for OLED transparent screens is also directly related to the screen brightness and thus, the brighter the screen or the content been displayed, the more the power consumption.

OLED transparent screen as a better contrast ratio as compared to LCD transparent screen. OLED transparent screen as the ability to produce extreme brightness and also become black without blooming. This is the consistency of brightness across the screen. OLED then to be more uniform as compared to LCD which has been said to produce light at the edges of the screen.

OLED transparent have a good viewing of the images. It doesn’t have the off-axis problems and produces quality pictures whose colors are not washed out even from extreme angles. OLED transparent screen produces a perfect black since its ability to turn off individual pixels. While LCD transparent screen has local dimming since the screen tends to dim independently of each other, this makes the level of black to be imperfect. Some of LCD transparent screen display a light bleed effect where the brighter section of the screen produces bloom on the adjacent darker sections of the screen. OLED transparent screen transforms black content to white content while the LCD transparent screen converts black content to transparent.

Response time is the ability of individual diodes to switching from on to off and vice versa. OLED as a better response time since individual diodes deal with individual pixels producing a quick response. On the other hand, LCD transparent screen has a slow response time since the diodes are slower and illuminate a cluster of pixels other than the individual pixel.

(13). Lifespan

LCD transparent screen has been known to have a long lifespan while the OLED transparent screen is yet to be known how long they can last since they were recently invented, but the manufacturers have said that the screens can last for 54 years if you watch for 5 hours a day with 50 percent brightness. This concept is yet to be proven.

Both transparent screens are good, and the choice depends on personal preference. They both have a good color space that is the color volume, color brightness, and color accuracy. Both can be incorporated other features such as touch screen to make them more interactive. Both screens have high refreshing rates that help in reducing motion blur on the screen; they have also made use of black frame insertions to help in increasing the refreshing rate.

Both have high dynamic range, and thus, one can improve the quality of the picture by either improving brightness, expanding contrast, or expand the color gamut among other features that can improve the picture quality. Both screens also have the same level of image burn-in, which is the ability of the image to persist on the screen.
